The Winnipeg Jets have returned home after what was a dismal road trip on the east coast and will be hoping to rediscover their form against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday evening.
The Canada Life Centre will be hosting the 8th and 10th place teams in the NHL when the puck drops to start the action, so those records potentially means that the quality of hockey should be good tonight. However, neither franchise has been playing their best hockey at this point in the season, as the Oilers are 5-3-2 in their last 10 contests, while the Jets are an unimpressive 5-5-0.
The Winnipeg Jets are currently on a 3 game losing skid and their chances of clinching the Central Division title appear to be dwindling. With the Nashville Predators on an amazing 15-0-2 streak, even 3rd place could be in jeopardy if the 93 pt Jets continue to struggle to pick up wins over their remaining 11 games. The Edmonton Oilers have dropped 2 straight matches and also don’t have much of a chance of being the Pacific Division leader since the Vancouver Canucks have a 10 pts lead. Therefore, the 88 pt Oilers will be focused on jockeying for post-season position with the Los Angeles Kings (87 pts) and Vegas Golden Knights (85 pts).

With 11 games remaining and many against top 10 NHL teams, the franchise has a chance to show themselves that they can stick with the big boys. The Jets should be playing for pride, momentum, and respect tonight…guess we’ll see if the team finds any push-back when the puck drops tonight.
