Preview: Winnipeg Jets Hope to Tread North While Down South

Losing streaks are never fun, and can cause a panic that ripples across the fan base and organization. The Winnipeg Jets are currently in the midst of one, dropping three in a row against Ottawa, Philadelphia and Minnesota. What makes it worse is how close the Central is once again this year, leaving no room for error or slumps.

Winnipeg Jets

Looks like Hell is starting to warm up again because Chris Thorburn has been promoted to the third line. That’s right, in Jets Land, Hell only freezes when the team does something right for a change. Why promote an old enforcer when we have a perfectly good and offensively capable Nicolas Petan in the lineup? Ever since he was first scratched against St. Louis in favour of Anthony Peluso, Jets fans have been asking why Petan hasn’t been sent to the Moose. A team that is starving at the moment for both wins and offense. He would slot right into the first line, eating up a ton of minutes and gaining experience too.

Dallas Stars

Lead by Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin, the Stars are looking real scary early on into the season. John Klingberg, the brother of former Jets prospect, Carl Klingberg, has been a monster this year and has been getting a lot of talk for the Norris Trophy already. Add former Blackhawks Patrick Sharp and Johnny Oduya into the mix too and you have a lot of weapons both offensively and defensively that could make it a long night for the Jets if they aren’t smart.

4-2 Stars. The streak continues *insert crying Michael Jordan meme here*.
