BW Chart for Jets vs Leafs 2/7

The Jets‘ 2-1 victory over the Maple Leafs Tuesday night was a nail-biter to say the least. The savior in the eyes of many were two: the aforementioned Chris Thorburn Rule (Thorburn scores a goal + ? = win), and Ondrej Pavelec. I don’t think anybody would dispute their contributions to the outcome, but how did the team perform?

Key

  • Just ignore the date at the top of the chart. I was drinking as I put this together.
  • Looks like it was a very close game throughout, with the slight edge going to us. In light of this, I think you could make an even more convincing argument that Pavs made the difference. And the Chris Thorburn Rule of course.
  • Most encouraging to me? 1. They scored first, but we replied soon thereafter, and 2. Up 1 near the end of the game, we finished very strong. If the pucks would start going into the net, I think we’d do an admirable job of holding the lead.
