Tonight the New Jersey Devils will haunt the Canada Life Centre and it will be up to the Winnipeg Jets to exorcise the demons in order to come out of the game victorious.

The Devils are sitting with a 7-5-1 record to sit in 4th in the Metropolitan Division, though they have done well on the road early in the year (4-2-0). The franchise from Jersey will be missing key components, as both top centers (Jack Hughes & Nico Hischier) won’t be in the lineup. New Jersey will have to rely on offense from other sources, like wingers Jesper Bratt (19 pts) & Tyler Toffoli (14 pts). Like the Jets, the visiting team hasn’t had great goaltending to start the season, with Vitek Vanacek (.887%) and Akira Schmid (.898%) not playing at the top of their games.

The Winnipeg Jets are in 3rd place in the Central Division with a 7-5-2 record, but are just breaking even at home (3-3-1) so far. Sniper Kyle Connor is coming off an NHL Player of the Week award and the Jets offense might have to be on their game to face a fairly high-scoring opponent. The team hasn’t announced a starter yet, but both Connor Hellebuyck (.892%) and Laurent Brossoit (.872%) need to step up their games. Winnipeg is getting contributions from many players, as they are one of four NHL teams with 7 players with at least 10 pts.

Can the Jets take advantage of a short-handed New Jersey squad and start another winning streak?? The game starts at 7 pm if you want to find out.
