The Toronto Maple Leafs have been running the North Division and the Winnipeg Jets have been the second best team and their first game showed that. The Jets played for all three periods which is a rare achievement for them and one that they need to continue to win again tonight.
They will also be without Nathan Beaulieu tonight as he hurt himself during their last game against the Leafs. I know that Paul Maurice liked how Beaulieu was playing, but he was always a detriment to the team and was not doing things that helped the Jets win. As for the Jets themselves, more of the same would be nice. They have a fair amount of skill and can keep up to the Leafs, so continuing their play and not going back to all their worst habits.
The Leafs are probably going to pour it all on early this game and come out strong. They will want to assert their dominance and remind the Jets that they are who they are. If they Jets can weather through that, they should be in good shape for the rest of the game. If not? Look out.
