Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs Vegas Golden Knights

Time: 7:00 PM CST

Channel: TSN3

The Winnipeg Jets are out of the playoffs with the Nashville Predators having one game in hand and therefore have the upperhand in the fight for the playoffs. The Jets are going into their game tomorrow against the Vegas Golden Knights with the need to win. It means that the Jets are going to have to play against one of the best teams in the league.

The game will be mark the first time Cody Eakin will play his former team. Eakin is currently the Jets second line centre because that is the move of a team on the precipice of making the playoffs. Thankfully the Jets are at full strength for the season with both Josh Morrissey and Patrik Laine back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game.

The Golden Knights are on a roll and the Jets are struggling. They seemed like a team that might get lucky their first year and then fall off, but they have continued to be good. After firing their coach earlier this season, they are now first in the Pacific Division. They are clearly a team ready to go. Now only if I can remember they are the Golden Knights and not the Golden Nights…

The Golden Nights are not a team of superstars, but of good players who do their jobs well. They have made some interesting trades over the years, but they have also done a very good job at acquiring players and getting rid of dead weight.
