Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs. Washington Capitals v2.0

Time: 7:00 PM CST

Channel: TSN3

Radio: TSN1290

The Winnipeg Jets and Washington Capitals are playing a rare home and home and tonight that series will bring us back to Bell MTS Place where the Jets will show their worthiness by losing to the Caps in a shootout after falling behind 3-0. The Jets somehow came back and only lost in a skills competition.

This both lends credence to the idea that the Caps are struggling lately and that the Jets have found their groove again. That is not exactly helping the Jets because everyone has found their groove, but they are at least not falling off of a cliff at this time. I have no actual comments about Tuesdays game as I was in a class instead of watching.

As for the Caps, they must be embarrassed to only go to the shootout after leading 3-0. That means that they let up at a certain point and allowed a team back into the game. Everyone knows that as soon as you do that, anything could have happened and the Caps saw that on Tuesday.

Based on Twitter, the Jets played three forwards in overtime which is both exciting and showing some risk-taking that we rarely see from Paul Maurice. Excellent work.
