The Winnipeg Jets are gearing up to play their last game before the All-Star Break. They are playing the Columbus Blue Jackets and once again this game is important because of the Jets recent play. They are still struggling and need more help defensively, something that has been true for almost an entire year now as the Jets started showing cracks last season.
As for their opponents, the Blue Jackets are a team that lost their starting goalie, Sergei Bobrovsky to the Florida Panthers for big money and still have one of the best goal tending tandems in the league. They lost Artemi Panarin to the New York Rangers and again, they have been fine. They have learned that you have to look at the long-term and realize that you do not need to hold onto all the big names if they want money that is outside of your budget.
The two teams are in different places. The Jets have been falling while the Blue Jackets have been playing good hockey and winning. The game could be another tough one for the Jets and that is a problem. It is already crunch time and they are starting to fall. Will they be sellers this year at the trade deadline?
