Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks acquired centre Devin Shore from Dallas. They acquired centre Justin Kloos from Minnesota. They acquired defenceman Michael Del Zotto from Vancouver. They acquired centre Derek Grant from Pittsburgh. They recalled right winger Troy Terry, left winger Max Jones, and defenceman Andrej Sustr from AHL San Diego and reassigned defenceman Jake Dotchin and right winger Kiefer Sherwood. They reassigned right winger Patrick Eaves for long-term conditioning purposes.

Arizona Coyotes

The Coyotes reassigned left winger Michael Bunting from AHL Tucson. They recalled goaltender Calvin Pickard from his conditioning stint. They reassigned goaltender Adin Hill.

Boston Bruins

The Bruins recalled left winger Peter Cehlarik from AHL Providence.

Left winger Rick Nash has retired from pro hockey. Drafted in the first round, first overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets, Nash has 805 points (437G, 368A) in 1060 games, as well as 46 points (18G, 28A) in 89 playoff games, for Columbus (2002/03-2011/12), the Rangers (2012/13-partway through 2017/18), and Boston (partway through 2017/18). Nash won the Maurice Rocket Richard Trophy in 2004, finishing with a 41 goals in a three-way tie for first with Calgary’s Jarome Iginla and Atlanta’s Ilya Kovalchuk. Nash also played in a handful of All-Star Games, representing Columbus in 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2011, as well as the Rangers in 2015. On the international stage, Nash won Gold with Team Canada in 2010 and 2014. Nash reached career-highs of 79 points and 39 assists in 2009 with Columbus and 42 goals in 2015 with the Rangers. Nash, 34, finished his final NHL season with 34 points (21G, 13A) in 71 games between the Rangers and Boston.

Buffalo Sabres

The Sabres reassigned left winger CJ Smith to AHL Rochester. They acquired left winger Taylor Leier from Philadelphia. They reassigned Leier.

Defenceman Josh Gorges has retired from pro hockey. Signed as an undrafted free agent in 2002 by the San Jose Sharks, Gorges has 124 points (17G, 107A) in 783 games, as well as nine points (0G, 9A) in 68 playoff games, for San Jose (2005/06-partway through 2006/07), Montreal (partway through 2006/07-2013/14), and Buffalo (2014/15-2017/18). Gorges was valued more than anything for a hard-working style of play. He never scored a lot of points, but was held in high regard for his shot-blocking. Gorges has career-highs of 23 points, four goals, and 19 assists, all in 2009 with Montreal. Gorges, 34, finished his last NHL season with two assists in 34 games for Buffalo.

Calgary Flames

The Flames made no moves this week.

Carolina Hurricanes

The Hurricanes acquired right winger Nino Niederreiter from Minnesota. They recalled goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic from AHL Charlotte.

Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks reassigned defenceman Brandon Davidson to AHL Rockford.

Colorado Avalanche

The Avalanche reassigned centre Tyson Jost and defenceman Ryan Graves to AHL Colorado.

Columbus Blue Jackets

The Blue Jackets recalled defenceman Gabriel Carlsson from AHL Cleveland. They reassigned right winger Kole Sherwood.

Dallas Stars

The Stars acquired left winger Andrew Cogliano from Anaheim. They reassigned right winger Erik Condra to AHL Texas. They recalled right winger Denis Gurianov.

Detroit Red Wings

The Red Wings made no moves this week.

Edmonton Oilers

The Oilers claimed centre Colby Cave off waivers from Boston. They reassigned centre Joseph Gambardella to AHL Bakersfield.

Florida Panthers

The Panthers recalled defenceman Joshua Brown from AHL Springfield. They reassigned centre Juho Lammikko.

Los Angeles Kings

The Kings made no moves this week.

Minnesota Wild

The Wild acquired left winger Pontus Aberg from Anaheim. They acquired centre Victor Rask from Carolina.

Montreal Canadiens

The Canadiens reassigned defenceman Karl Alzner to AHL Laval. They recalled Alzner. Left winger Paul Byron has been suspended three games for charging Florida’s MacKenzie Weegar.

Nashville Predators

The Predators acquired left winger Cole Schneider from the Rangers. They reassigned Schneider to AHL Milwaukee. They reassigned right winger Phillip Di Giuseppe. Centre Ryan Johansen has been suspended two games for high-sticking Winnipeg’s Mark Scheifele.

Left winger Brandon Bollig has retired from pro hockey. Signed as an undrafted free agent in 2010 by the Chicago Blackhawks, Bollig has 23 points (10G, 13A) in 241 games, as well as four points (3G, 1A) in 35 playoff games, for Chicago (2011/12-2013/14) and Calgary (2014/15-2015/16). Bollig played the 2016/17 season for AHL Stockton and signed a one-year deal for 2017/18 with San Jose, splitting the year between AHL San Jose and AHL Milwaukee as he was traded to Nashville. Bollig won the Stanley Cup with Chicago in 2013. The winger was always known for his physical play rather than skill. He was the closest thing the Blackhawks had to an enforcer on their 2013 Stanley Cup-winning team. Bollig had career-highs of 14 points, seven goals, and seven assists in 2014 with Chicago. Bollig finished his last NHL season in 2015/16 with four points (2G, 2A) in 54 games for Calgary. Bollig, 31, finished his final pro season with 14 points in 66 games between the AHL’s San Jose Sharks and Milwaukee Admirals.

New Jersey Devils

The Devils reassigned goaltender Cameron Johnson to AHL Binghamton. They recalled defenceman Egor Yakovlev.

New York Islanders

The Islanders reassigned left winger Matt Lorito to AHL Bridgeport.

New York Rangers

The Rangers acquired left winger Connor Brickley from Nashville. They recalled defenceman Ryan Lindgren from AHL Hartford. They reassigned Brickley. They recalled goaltender Marek Mazanec and reassigned goaltender Alexandar Georgiev.

Ottawa Senators

The Senators reassigned right winger Darren Archibald and defenceman Stefan Elliott to AHL Belleville. They reassigned goaltender Marcus Hogberg.

Philadelphia Flyers

The Flyers reassigned defenceman Jacob Graves to ECHL Reading. They acquired right winger Justin Bailey from Buffalo. They reassigned goaltender Anthony Stolarz to AHL Lehigh Valley for conditioning purposes. They reassigned Bailey.

Pittsburgh Penguins

The Penguins acquired centre Joseph Blandisi from Anaheim.

San Jose Sharks

The Sharks reassigned centre Rourke Chartier and defenceman Jacob Middleton to AHL San Jose. They recalled centre Dylan Gambrell. They signed left winger Marcus Sorensen to a two-year contract extension.

St. Louis Blues

The Blues recalled centre Jordan Kyrou and right winger Jordan Nolan from AHL San Antonio.

Tampa Bay Lightning

The Lightning made no moves this week. Defenceman Mikhail Sergachev has been fined $2403.67 for cross-checking Buffalo’s Johan Larsson.

Toronto Maple Leafs

The Maple Leafs reassigned right winger Gabriel Gagne to AHL Toronto. They reassigned goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo following his emergency recall. They signed left winger Trevor Moore to a two-year contract extension. They reassigned goaltender Michael Hutchinson following his emergency recall.

Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks recalled centre Adam Gaudette from AHL Utica. They acquired defenceman Luke Schenn and a 2020 seventh-round pick from Anaheim and reassigned him to AHL Utica. They recalled centre Tanner Kero.

Vegas Golden Knights

The Golden Knights made no moves this week.

Washington Capitals

The Capitals made no moves this week.

Winnipeg Jets

The Jets recalled defenceman Cameron Schilling from AHL Manitoba.
