Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks made no moves this week.

Centre Chris Kelly has retired from pro hockey. Drafted in the third round, 94th overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators, Kelly has 291 points (123G, 168A) in 845 games, as well as 32 points (12G, 20A) in 92 playoff games, for Ottawa (2003/04-partway through 2010/11, 2016/17), Boston (partway through 2010/11-2015/16), and Anaheim (2017/18). Never a top offensive threat but a decent two-way forward in his prime, Kelly has career-highs of 20 goals and 39 points, both in 2011/12 with Boston, and 23 assists, back in 2006/07 with Ottawa. Kelly won the Stanley Cup with Boston in 2011. Kelly, 37, spent a brief stint with the AHL’s Belleville Senators and played for Team Canada during he Pyeongchang Olympics before signing with Anaheim in February and finished his final season with two points (0G, 2A) in 12 games for the Ducks.

Left winger Tom Sestito has retired from pro hockey. Drafted in the third-round, 85th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets, Sestito has 21 points (10G, 11A) in 154 games, as well as zero points in one playoff game, for Columbus (2007/08, 2009/10-2010/11), Philadelphia (2011/12-partway through 2012/13), Vancouver (partway through 2012/13-2014/15), and Pittsburgh (2015/16-2016/17). Sestito has career-highs of five goals, nine assists, and 14 assists, all in 2014 with Vancouver. Sestito won a Stanley Cup in 2017 with the Penguins in 2017. In his last NHL season, 2016/17, Sestito scored two assists in 13 games, as well as 16 points in 33 games with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Sestito didn’t see any NHL action this past season despite being on an NHL contract, scoring 15 points in 37 games for AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
