Preview: Winnipeg Jets versus New Jersey Devils

The Winnipeg Jets are facing off against Taylor Hall and the New Jersey Devils in a game that should not be boring at all. If the Devils make the playoffs, it will be thanks to their star forward who was traded to them in a one-for-one trade with the Edmonton Oilers two summers ago.

The Devils also have 18 year old Nico Hischier on their team. 2017’s first overall pick has found success with the Devils; recording 13 goals and 28 assists for 41 points in 67 games. The Devils also feature former Manitoba Moose goalie Cory Schneider who was acquired from the Vancouver Canucks some time ago.

As for the Jets, they are once again without the service of Mark Scheifele who has an upper body injury once again. Thankfully the Jets are better prepared for this type of loss since the trade deadline when the acquired Paul Stastny. Even if the main change is Wheeler shifting to centre and a fourth liner moving up to that line, simply playing the Patrik Laine/Paul Stastny/Nikolaj Ehlers line more should compensate a bit for the loss of Scheifele.

Outside of that, there is the possibility that Tobias Enstrom will return tonight and what a sight for sore eyes that would be. If that happens expect him to slot in with Dustin Byfuglien unless they want to keep his minutes down. In any case, if he plays tonight expect for either Joe Morrow or Ben Chiarot to sit out.

Prediction:

I make it home in time for the game and the Jets don’t bore me to death.
