Winnipeg Jets recall Nelson Nogier

The Winnipeg Jets have recalled defenceman Nelson Nogier from the Manitoba Moose. He will join the team either in New Jersey or New York. There is no word on if there is another injury to the defence or if someone else went onto injured reserve.

Nogier only has one assist this year in the AHL. He spent most of last season injured. This is not his first call up as he was also called up during his first professional season. He played in ten games and recorded no points in that time.

It is unlikely that Nogier will play tonight or even tomorrow, but if they are out three defencemen, they will want a spare in the press box.

It was also announced today that Mason Appleton will play tonight for the Jets. He will appear on a line with Mathieu Perreault and Jack Roslovic. It appears Nic Petan is scratched and Brendan Lemieux is on the Adam Lowry line. It is important that Appleton play, so him getting in after only being scratched for a game or two is a really good sign. Hopefully both him and Sami Niku continue to play as the season goes on, even if that means they are in the AHL.
