Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs. Vancouver Canucks

The Winnipeg Jets are playing the Vancouver Canucks tonight and it should be a good one. After a hot start, the Canucks are levelling off a bit, but they do boast one of the top rookies in the league right now in Elias Pettersson. Petterson is a multi-faceted winger who can score with ease, set up his linemates in his sleep, and defend very well. Him coming over from Sweden has been a gift to the Canucks and they are already reaping the benefits.

Another player that has been key to the Canucks is Bo Horvat. The Canucks centre has been key to their resurgence this year and is building on a strong year last year. Between his play and Pettersson’s one almost does not miss the Sedin twins.

As for the Jets, it is the same old story; they are good on the power play with a near unstoppable set up, but they struggle five on five. They are not necessarily struggling five on five, but they are definitely struggling to finish plays. One reason might be because their breakout is holding them back. One other reason is certainly their luck sucks compared to last year. Whatever the reason, hopefully they turn it around against a team that lost a game in the last eight seconds on Saturday night after Michael Del Zotto took a terrible penalty.
