Andrew Copp is playing in his fourth full season with the Winnipeg Jets, putting up career highs in games played, assists and points. He played all 82 regular season games and the first 16 playoff games before being a healthy scratch in the deciding game five of the Western Conference finals.

Copp is an everyday NHL player, having earned that status through solid defensive play much more than offensive prowess. His 0.26 points per game are on the low side, but his defence and penalty killing abilities are quite good, and enough to keep him around. At 24-years-old, it doesn’t look like Copp will blossom into an offensive star, but he’s quick enough, stays out of the box and, again, takes care of things in his own end.

Playing on a line with Adam Lowry and Brandon Tanev, Copp sees around 14 minutes per night in shutdown roles.

Copp is an upcoming restricted-free agent, who should see a raise this offseason if his play maintains or improves.
