Free Agent Frenzy: Jets Sign Steve Mason

The Jets may have found their answer in net today by signing former Flyers goaltender Steve Mason. It was originally reported that he wanted a starting role, and not part of a platoon, but things obviously change after gauging interest. The deal has been reported as a 2 year, $4.1 Million contract. No additional details have been revealed if there are any.

The Jets now have a duo of Steve Mason and Connor Hellebuyck going into next season. Is this the missing puzzle piece to a playoff run? Only time will tell, but as of today, I’m pretty content with the signing. It fills a need, the contract is good, and Mason has been pretty good for Philadelphia these last few years.
