After Darren Dreger speculated earlier this week that the Vegas Golden Knights would take Toby Enstrom in the Expansion Draft, he is now speculating that the Winnipeg Jets made a deal with the Golden Knights to keep Enstrom a Jet and the Golden Knights would pick someone else from the Jets roster.
Unsure who the Winnipeg Jets are losing in expansion, but I believe the Jets made a deal with VGK to not take veteran Toby Enstrom.

This is good news for the Jets as Enstrom is quite valuable to the team, even as he has fallen off over the years. There are probably a couple reasons for GM George McPhee’s decision here: 1. There are a lot of serviceable defencemen available for the Golden Knights to pick 2. The Jets have an intriguing forward available who will be under contract for longer than Enstrom.
Enstrom’s NMC could also make it harder to move him to a contender at the deadline. In lieu of Enstrom, it is likely that the Jets will lose Marko Dano and a pick of some sort as the incentive to not take Enstrom. The trade will be announced as a pick for future considerations if there is such a move in place.
