Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs Montreal Canadiens

The Winnipeg Jets are hosting the struggling Montreal Canadiens tonight. The Habs are without Carey Price as he is injured, although he has struggled this year and Al Montoya has been stronger recently. Outside of Price’s struggles, the Habs have also had a very low team shooting percentage that has only recently begun to normalize.

The Jets are slowly having players break out of slumps and even the bottom six has been contributing. On the other hand, the Habs have not been getting steady contributions from all members. If there is a player to watch on the Habs it would be 19 year old defenceman, Victor Mete. Mete is a small, sleek player who helps the Habs transition the puck. Expect the Jets to go after him to break up the Habs transition and shake up the youngster.

The Jets will be starting Connor Hellebuyck and that should come as no surprise. After looking uncharacteristically uncontrolled last year, he has found his style again and the results have been phenomenal. He is the starting goalie that the Jets have needed since 2011.

Game time is at 6:00 PM tonight on Sportsnet.
