Overview:

The NCAA's leading scorer and Hobey Baker finalist Kyle Connor makes his Winnipeg Jet debut. Possibly. After a phenomenal preseason, it's still unknown if he starts the team with the Jets. The last time a rookie phenom lead the team in points in the preseason, he was sent back to Barrie. Since that isn't an option in this case, he'll have to join the Moose. If I'm a betting man though, expect Connor to make the Jets, despite the amassed forward depth.

AIH Authors’ Thoughts:

"Kyle Connor is fast – Ehlers fast. Kyle Connor can shoot – release and accuracy like Quick Draw McGraw. He is largely forgotten after the drafting of Patrik Laine. The Jets have a live one here – a legit first line talent with the potential to do serious damage to the opposition. It will be interesting to see how he deals with the physicality of the NHL as a rookie. " – Truck

"Surprise! Connor allowed the Jets brass to sit back and say "we knew he was this good all along!". Yeah, Ok.let's go with that shall we. Connor lit the lamp and cruised past the opponents in his college debut, and banked that experience into an NHL contract over the summer. Good on him! The next step in the Connor evolution will be to put up some numbers in the AHL or perhaps the NHL, as some scouts think he's ready for the big time. What ever time it is this season, let's hope it's Connor's time." – Andy

"Kyle Connor really impressed in the NCAA. Although some people were whispering a portion of it had to do with his linemates. We will see whether or not that rings true this year. If everything goes as planned, I can see a second line of Laine-Little-Connor. Some time with the Moose wouldn't be the end of the world and he would add some serious offensive punch to the lineup." – Ian
Summary:

If you know me, you already know what I think about Connor. I've seen this kid play since he was 16, and the future is bright. In fact on the AIH Superfans Podcast, I give a scorching take regarding him and Laine. There's really nothing more I can say, all I know is he is going to be solid. Oh yeah, and this:

What do you think about our #6 pick? Are you as high on him as I am? Where should he play this season, and where WILL he play? Let us know down in the comments!
