Teams, and their General Managers are able to add players that will help push their team up the standings, but - like any market -there is a margin for error. In hockey there might not be a bigger day of error.

A limited market, coupled with a large number of team's with room to improve inflates market prices. This can lead to disaster - and buyouts. It can also lead to great things. Some team will add a player that puts them over the top. Others will find bargains - Hi Mathew Perreault.
