AIH 20416 Podcast Episode 13: Speaking with our Senior Evander Kane Correspondent

Hello everyone! It was a night of thirteens, with Episode 13 being recorded on December 13th. Right off the gate, Alan tried to paint me into a Detroit Red Wings fandom corner, while we complained about Central Division bellyaching and plugged Winnipeg's new slogan:

Alan and I almost argue over whether the Winnipeg Jets had had a good stretch of games, but there was no argument over the continuing saga of Mark Stuart being Mark Stuart, only sadness and resignation.

Following my failed attempt to remember Craig Button's name, we were joined by our first repeat guest, Jack Goods of SB Nation's Die By The Blade, a man who shall be known in future episodes as Regular Contributor and Senior Evander Kane Correspondent. He proceeded to bask in #9's glory, before enlightening us on a whole slew of topics: Zach Bogosian's struggles, the development of Rasmus Ristolainen, why Buffalo's rebuild is not Edmonton's, the fatigue factor as it applies to Jack Eichel, Sam Reinhart 2015-16 versus Sam Reinhart 2014-15, the list goes on. Alan went all hockey nerd on me, asking about Buffalo's draft needs and which prospects might be ready to step up next season, while I got the inside scoop on pending UFA Jamie McGinn and allowed Mr. Goods to confess his longing for Tyler Myers (or not).

After touching upon the Chad Johnson era and the biggest difference between Dan Bylsma and Ted Nolan, we went a little off-script, with Mr. Goods flipping the table and asking us questions about the Winnipeg Jets! As you can imagine, much positivity flowed. Highlights included comparing the Winnipeg Jets to the Tom Golisano / Darcy Regier Buffalo Sabres, Mark Scheifele being more talented than Jack Eichel, and my brain refusing to articulate the word "recompense".

Since he was such a special guest, we went beyond both the Winnipeg Jets and the Buffalo Sabres. Hosting the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship and outdoor game ideas, the Pittsburgh Penguins firing Mike Johnston and of course, future Toronto Maple Leafs captain Steven Stamkos were all deemed worth a mention.

For the second time in a row, Mr. Goods left our studio with a scorching hot taek. This is why we pay him the big bucks! What did he say, you ask? Well you'll just have to listen to find out!
