Here is what's in the news for Monday, October 22, 2012:

Three more Winnipeg Jets’ games have been cancelled due to the NHL’s inability to sign a new collective bargaining agreement, including two divisional contests versus the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning. Jets’ fans will also miss out on the first visit from the Detroit Red Wings since they eliminated the Jets’ Ver. 1.0 in the spring of 1996. [WFP]

The St. John's IceCaps have split their second series in a row, this time with the Adirondack Phantoms. They are currently 2-2-0-0 on the season. [The Telegram]

Saturday night's game saw the IceCaps get out to an early 2-0 lead before surrendering four straight goals and eventually losing 4-3. [WFP]
