Join us in our first of two GameDay Threads, covering this weekend's series between the St. John's IceCaps and the Adirondack Phantoms. We promise that it will be filled with sarcasm and dry wit.

ST. JOHN'S ICECAPS (1-1-0-0) vs. ADIRONDACK PHANTOMS (1-1-0-0)
Oct. 19, 2012 at Mile One Centre
Start: 6:00 PM EST
Enemy Blog: Broad Street Hockey

After a hellish trip that involved both traveling by bus and by plane, the Adriondack have arrived in Newfoundland, some 1276 miles later, ready to face-off against the St. John's IceCaps for the first time this season.

On the surface, there are plenty of similarities between the two teams. Both teams enter tonight's match-up with identical 1-1-0-0 records and each team's leading scorer -- Brayden Schenn and Spencer Machacek respectively -- have tallied three points at this juncture.

The IceCaps' will be without their captain Jason Jaffray for at least one more weekend as he continues to work his way back from a neck injury which ailed him for the better part of last season. The Adirondack Phantoms are healthy and return Matthew Konan to their roster this weekend.

Game time kicks off at 5:00PM CST, which is pretty early for most Manitobans, but we hope you swing by and follow the game with us.
