Here are today's odds, adjusting for the vig:
Team | Average | Insider | NSAwins | Linesmaker | Bodog |
SJ | 12.9 | 14.1 | 12.7 | 12.7 | 12.2 |
Chicago | 13.7 | 12.7 | 14.5 | 12.7 | 15 |
Vancouver | 7.0 | 6.3 | 5.8 | 6.3 | 9.6 |
Detroit | 7.0 | 5.3 | 4.6 | 10.6 | 7.5 |
Phoenix | 4.6 | 4.2 | 5.3 | 5.3 | 3.7 |
Los Angeles | 2.6 | 3.2 | 2.5 | 2.1 | 2.4 |
Colorado | 1.5 | 2.5 | 1.1 | 0.8 | 1.7 |
Nashville | 1.3 | 1.8 | 0.6 | 1.1 | 1.7 |
Just by eyeball, Bodog seems to have done the best job of setting the lines – it also has the smallest vig (48%). I think San Jose is being oversold – they’re not the dominant team they’ve been in the past and they’re depending on Evgeni Nabokov continuing to get lucky. Detroit and particularly Vancouver are a little underrated. I’d also put the Kings ahead of Phoenix – I give the Coyotes very low odds of getting past Detroit in the first round, while the Kings would have a very good chance of beating San Jose or Phoenix.
