Unlike in years past, the Winnipeg Jets will get to play at a normal time on Black Friday because the NHL finally remembered that Canada does in fact have to work today. That said, the game is late for Florida time.

Anyways, the Jets have been playing well recently and appear to have put it all together. They have had solid defence with Neal Pionk finally playing closer to the defence he played in his first season on the team than his most recent season. They’ve also been playing much better at forward, with depth players coming up and not getting overrun. There is also the positive that Gabe Vilardi is close to returning and play tonight or Sunday night. Fingers crossed.

The Florida Panthers are of course, coached by Paul Maurice. They are also a team full of talented players who were able to trade away players that could become contract problems before they did (looking at you Jonathan Huberdeau). They have players like Alexander Barkov and Sam Reinhart leading them offensively and it has been paying off. The Panthers appear to be proving that their trip to the Stanley Cup Finals last season was not a joke. It looks like they have finally built something sustainable in Miami. Either way, the Jets will have their hands full tonight.
