Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs Edmonton Oilers

Time: 6:00 PM CDT

Channel: Sportsnet1

Radio: TSN1290

The Winnipeg Jets are playing the Edmonton Oilers and will have the difficult task of stopping Connor McDavid who has been eating the NHL alive this season. Stop McDavid and you probably have a chance to beat them. The Jets have had success stopping McDavid in the past, but they have a much weaker defence than they have in the past. The job will probably fall to Josh Morrissey and Tucker Poolman.

Speaking of defence, Ville Heinola has looked very good since coming back into the lineup. While I completely understand resting rookies here and there, it should be a one-game reset thing instead of multiple games in a row. And on the topic of rookies, it has been hard to notice David Gustafsson which means he is doing just fine.

This game should be a good game tonight. The Oilers are not nearly as good as their record shows and the Jets are not that bad. The game probably hinges on McDavid and the Jets ability to stop him. It is a really tough task and they might not be able to do it.

Prediction:

Connor McDavid’s skates light on fire and he destroys the ice ending the game.
