Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs Dallas Stars

Time: 7:00 PM CST

Channel: TSN3

Radio: TSN1290

The Winnipeg Jets are facing off against a Central Division rival the Dallas Stars in a key game in the playoff standings. The Jets are in a solid place and the Stars are currently in a wild card spot. If the Jets are able to win tonight it will only add space between the two teams in the standings which is never a bad thing.

The Jets have been on a roll for most of the season, but sometimes get into a bad habit of not starting the game on time and giving themselves a steep hill to climb based on their slow starts. The Jets will hopefully be able to bounce back from their slow start against the Los Angeles Kings where they could not come back from being down 2-0?

The Jets have been playing well thanks to their goaltending. They have also held their defence together partially with their goaltending. They have also weathered Bryan Little’s injury thanks to the second line working well together and Jack Roslovic showing that he was right in wanting more of a chance to contribute to the team overall.

The Stars have turned their season around, but there was a time when they were falling apart in thanks the fact they were not getting much of a contribution from Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn, both of whom are still struggling to contribute. Much like the Jets who are winning when they shouldn’t be, the Stars are able to win without their stars playing to their full potential. Or those stars are getting older and they are less likely to contribute as much as they did when they were younger.

Prediction

Both Seguin and Benn have a breakout game, making it hard for the Jets to win the game because they have awoken a giant.
