The Winnipeg Jets are playing their second half of a back to back series in California after travelling from San Jose last night after playing a later starting game (7:30 PM local time). This will be a hard game for the Jets because of the turnaround from last game. There is no comment about the outcome of the game last night because this was written prior to the end of the game against the San Jose Sharks.

The Jets have been playing well. They have their mentors (mostly dads) with them and they have been playing well for a while. At the time of writing, the game last night was led by the Sharks by one goal which is better news for the Sharks instead of the Jets. Alas, this is not about the Jets and the Sharks.

The Anaheim Ducks are another bad team. They started off the season with a few wins, but they were a PDO (shooting percentage plus save percentage) team and that bubble burst. They have been struggling for a while, but have gotten some relief in recent weeks including Trevor Zegras returning. He was not available when the Jets played the Ducks earlier this season. However, he only have five points this year so who knows if he is much of a boost to the Ducks.

The Jets have had better output from all their forwards including on the lower lines. The bottom six, once a place of weakness for the Jets, has morphed into an area of strength with the likes of Morgan Barron shoring up the fourth line and Adam Lowry effectively anchoring the third line. This is a big improvement from the days of Chris Thorburn, the fourth line staple because he was good in the room.
