The Winnipeg Jets are welcoming their old coach back tonight when they face the Florida Panthers. Paul Maurice will return to Winnipeg as the most successful coach they have had thanks to the Jets 2017 playoff run. While they struggled near the end of his tenure, he did oversee some great times.
Maurice has not had much luck with the Panthers as the team is struggling to find their form from last year which ended in playoff disappointment and Andrew Burnett not being extended. However, the Panthers do still have some really good players including Alexander Barkov who has been excellent since day one with the team.
The Jets will be looking to build off of their win on Sunday which saw them assert their dominance in the third period. They will once again be looking to goaltending and scoring, including the awakened Kyle Connor, to do this. Expect Connor Hellebuyck to start.
Hopefully the Jets have a tribute video for Maurice tonight and Panther fans can get their own tribute video wave from him to use in the future. Outside of that, the two teams will hopefully play a good game that is clean and fast.
