The Winnipeg Jets and Chicago Blackhawks are playing. This will be a really quick Preview and GDT because I have to go run some errands before heading over to my parents house. Afternoon games suck honestly.
The Chicago Blackhawks do not appear to be the team they were last year. It seems like Jonathan Toews has recovered from long COVID and is back to scoring at a high rate. The team is (just) above .500 which is a lot better than they were last year at this time. We are a couple weeks away from American Thanksgiving which is the date used to tell us where all teams stand for the rest of the season. The Blackhawks are currently third in the Central Division, just behind the Jets. While this could change, they are currently in the playoffs (as are the Jets).
The Jets are in a good position where they almost got goalied on Thursday, but did manage to get Kyle Connor into the goal column with his first of the season which was something the team sorely needed. The Jets will remain without Nikolaj Ehlers and need offence to be coming from elsewhere to weather his absence.
Now, I have no lines for the Jets (this is really rushed because I was cuddling a baby), but there is this. So more injuries yay.
Kyle Capobianco taking the warmup for the #NHLJets. So is Jansen Harkins. No Dylan Samberg or Dominic Toninato. So there's the lineup changes the coach talked about yesterday. Capobianco making his Winnipeg debut, Harkins his 2022-23 debut. #wfp
