Game 3 Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs Ottawa Senators

Time: 6:00 PM CST

Channel: TSN3

Radio: CJOB 680/Power 97

The Winnipeg Jets are playing their first of three in a row against the Ottawa Senators tonight. This is a lot of the NHL this season: mini-series against teams to limit travel and allow for almost mini bubbles to emerge. This is what Health Canada wanted and this is what Jonathan Toews proposed to cut down on travel for players.

The Sens are well, the Sens. They have some good young players that they will be unable to pay in five to seven years and the rest of them are players they pay to reach the salary cap floor. That said, the kids that the Sens have are good. Thomas Chabot is somehow still standing after being run into the ground last year and Tim Stützle is very good as seen at the World Juniors that ended just before the NHL season began.

As for the Jets, there is the potential for Dylan Samberg or Ville Heinola to draw into the lineup on defence. There is also the potential for Patrik Laine to return I guess, but that would seem unlikely based on how little he has practiced the past few days.

The Jets are likely to start Laurent Brossoit as they do need to give Connor Hellebuyck games off now and then and this is the perfect game for that. But this is the Jets and so we are likely to see Hellebuyck in net again. Oh well. Should be a game we watch tonight.
