Things are going well for the Baby Jets, as the Manitoba Moose find themselves in first place in the Central Division after 13 games played, with a record of 7-4-1-1, good for 16 points.

The team has won three in a row, having picked up victories against the Stockton Heat, Bakersfield Condors and Stockton again. Since the last Farm Report, the Moose have also won against their long-time rival Chicago Wolves, lost in regulation to Bakersfield, and lost a pair of games to the Belleville Senators in overtime and shootout respectively.

The Moose as a whole have benefited from the individual performances of Jack Roslovic, Buddy Robinson (12 points), Michael Sgarbossa (11 points), and their goaltenders. This is without early season stars Kyle Connor (who isn’t coming back) and Brendan Lemieux (he may eventually come back but who knows). Nic Petan has four points in his last three games since being sent down, and Tucker Poolman has been held off the scoresheet in the three games that have gone by since he too was sent down. Rookie Mason “Apples” Appleton has made a good impression this season, picking up two goals and eights assists, which ties for the team lead, in 13 games.

The Moose play a pair of games in California this weekend, including a game that will start at 11:15 CST on Remembrance Day, which I loathe with every fiber of my being. Both games are against the San Jose Barracuda, the affiliate of the San Jose Sharks. The Barracuda (it’s seems weird without an S) sit second last in the Pacific Division, and are lead in scoring by Daniel O’Regan (5 goals, 5 assists, 10 games).
