Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs. Vancouver Canucks

Time: 9:00 PM CST

After a disappointing series against the Edmonton Oilers, the Winnipeg Jets will be looking to right the ship against the Canucks. Vancouver haven’t been the class of the North, per se, but their goaltending in Thatcher Demko and young goal-scoring talent has held firm. Winnipeg won’t be able to relax around attackers like the pesky but skilled Nils Hoglander. The only advantage is that Vancouver’s bottom 2 lines and defense are on shaky ground.

For the Canucks, they’ll have to do a better job protecting Demko’s crease. Vancouver has been quite leaky in defending the central slot area, a common theme over the last few seasons. The Canucks actually share some of Winnipeg’s issues, but don’t have the same forward depth to paper over their mistakes. The surprisingly great start for Demko, though, gives the Canucks a fighting chance in every outing.
