Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs Dallas Stars

Time: 7:00 PM CST

Channel: TSN3

Radio: TSN1290

The Winnipeg Jets look to build off of their best game of the season when they face the Dallas Stars tonight. The Stars are in the first Wild Card spot in the Western Conference with a comfortable lead over the second spot. They are currently on a two game losing streak.

The Jets played an excellent game on Saturday night where they took it to the Nashville Predators and reminding them of why they won game seven last year in the playoffs instead of the Preds. It would be wonderful to see more of the same from the Jets tonight.

One thing to watch for is for Patrik Laine to remain on Kevin Hayes’ wing. Laine can play with any play-making centre and while he has played well with Mark Scheifele, he might be better off with Hayes and that could help the Jets more. Either way, the Jets top six is lit.

The Jets opponent are the Stars who are another good Central Division team. The Stars are obviously not a threat to the Jets and a playoff spot because the Jets have already clinched that. Instead, the Jets can delay the Stars clinching a playoff spot and can make their owner more upset at Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn. All’s well that ends well.
