Game Three Preview: Winnipeg Jets versus Nashville Predators

Time: 7:00 PM CST

Channel: CBC, SNet360, TVAS, NBCSN

Radio: TSN1290

The Winnipeg Jets and Nashville Predators are back in Winnipeg to continue their compelling second round series which is now tied at 1-1. With both teams having picked up a win in Nashville, it will be interesting to see who pulls ahead in the crucial game three.

The Predators won game two in double overtime. The Jets played much better in game two then they had in game one, leaving the Predators to hold on for dear life at times. The Jets were able capitalize on this in the last minute of play when Mark Scheifele scored the game-tying goal which leads us to our next advantage the Jets have had in the first two games: goaltending.

Pekka Rinne had a great regular season, but he seems to have forgotten how to play goal in the second round, allowing numerous dubious goals and I am here for it. If Rinne keeps on letting in weak shots and the Jets keep on playing well, this series looks good for Winnipeg.

On the injury front, Mathieu Perreault is back to skating with the team as is Dmitry Kulikov. Kulikov might not be close though as backs are notoriously finicky and no one likes them. Outside of that, all is quiet on possible lineup changes today.

Prediction:

Another compelling game which has fans of these two teams and hockey fans in general sitting on the edge of their seat.

(apologies for how short this is, I am dealing with a nasty cold)
