The winner of the 2017-18 AHL Top Defenceman award, Sami Niku, has been recalled by the Winnipeg Jets ahead of Game Four of their Stanley Cup Playoffs Quarterfinal series against the Minnesota Wild.
Niku, who in the past two weeks has been named the winner of the Eddie Shore Award as well as being named to the AHL First All-Star Team and AHL All-Rookie Team, finished the AHL season with 54 points in 76 games. He also netted his first NHL goal in his one and only game for the Jets earlier this month.
There is no word yet on whether or not he will play in Game Four.
