Preview and GDT: Winnipeg Jets versus Toronto Maple Leafs

New, comments

The Jets are playing again and I am back from Winnipeg!

It is another Battle of the Top Picks as Patrik Laine and Auston Matthews face off yet again to prove who is the more superior player. Laine is in contention for the Rocket Richard while Matthews is very good in his own right.

Outside of these two players, the Jets are looking to bounce back from an abhorrent performance against the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday night (I was at A Wrinkle in Time with my sister and that performance was definitely not abhorrent).

The Jets are welcoming Steve Mason back into the fold. He will serve as the backup to Connor Hellebuyck tonight. Hopefully he will be able to spell Hellebuyck for a few more games so Hellebuyck can be rested for the playoffs and Mason can have had some playing time in case he is needed in the playoffs.

Beside Mason, the Jets get Jacob Trouba back tonight. This is huge as Tobias Enstorm is not playing for the rest of the season. Hopefully Trouba will have a most successful return from injury then last time and he does not get injured again in short order.

No lines tonight because I drove all day on very windy roads with blowing snow. Recap quality might be not great as well.
