The Winnipeg Jets are debuting their new, younger roster against the young and well managed Carolina Hurricanes. The Hurricanes are debuting a roster that features nifty waiver claims and smart veteran signings of players who are probably underrated to a certain degree. All this said, the Jets are putting forth a really interesting roster of their own right. While the defence looks rough with Dustin Byfuglien and Tobias Enstrom being separated to help compensate for the lack of Jacob Trouba. Tyler Myers and Josh Morrissey will be asked to bear the burden that comes with playing with the two aforementioned defencemen.

As for the forwards, Matheiu Perreault with be centring a line with two notable rookies: Kyle Connor at left wing and Patrick Laine at right wing will start with him on the third line. This line will probably be used in a more offensive capacity, leaving the Little line to be the defensive line with assistance from the Schiefele line.
