Hello everyone! Recorded during and after the 3-2 loss to St. Louis on Monday, Alan had to endure a slightly stuffy sounding yours truly, which may or may not have been due to weeping over Winnipeg's then 1-6-1 stretch.
Before speaking with our guest, we dabbled in a little bit more Winnipeg Jets prelude than usual. Between the unhappiness which is third liner Chris Thorburn, wondering whether Chevy is handcuffed or inactive by choice, and pointing out how Drew Stafford costs just $100,000 less than Daniel Winnik, PA Parenteau and Brad Boyes combined, the intro segment was full of sunshine and lollipops. Oh, and listen to me gripe about Petan's ice time on the Winnipeg Jets for (hopefully) the last time!
We were joined this week by Dan Bradley, co-manager of On the Forecheck and one of the Predcast triumvirate. In case you were unaware, On the Forecheck is SB Nation's site for the Nashville Predators, who you may remember from November 14th's 7-0 trouncing. I booed him so that you don't have to.
Our episodes always strive to provide an abundance of content, and once again we delivered. Whether it was comparing the 2015-16 Winnipeg Jets to the Barry Trotz Predators, Nashville as a hockey market after football season ends, or seemingly every roster and contractual aspect of the Nashville d-corps, we pulled no punches.
Golden Saturday helmets and disciplining your image, David Poile having nude photos of George McPhee, the impact of Peter Laviolette, being a costly and shortsighted trade for Eric Staal away from contender status, all this and more made the show's docket. And of course, we cornered poor Dan with the age-old "Filip Forsberg or Jacob Trouba" question. As always, Alan was a monster who constantly brought us back to Winnipeg Jets talk, though never fear folks, I still managed to ask the Viktor Arvidsson question everyone was asking for.
Unfortunately, while the interview went well and our guest was a joy to have, the show wrapped up on the heels of Winnipeg's 3-2 loss to St. Louis. Come for the "how many times does Phil start a question with 'Now, ...' " drinking game (which despite my best efforts continues unabated), stay for the disheartened outro!
