The Night That Was: Ducks Lay an Egg

Teemu Selanne played his last game in the NHL and the league could lose another fantastic Finn in Saku Koivu is he decides to retire this summer.

Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports

Anaheim Ducks 2 Los Angeles Kings 6

It wasn't meant to be. In the game that turned out to be Teemu Selanne's last game, the Ducks laid an egg and the Kings became the champions of California. John Gibson, who got overhyped in the pre-game by Mike Johnson on TSN ("next great American goalie"),  was pulled after allowing 4 goals on 18 shots. Jonathan Quick turned away 20 shots for the win.
