It was a classic match-up between Canada and Russia and things were off to their normal start with Canada falling behind by two goals after two periods. The third period involved Canada coming back and scoring four unanswered goals to complete the comeback against their hated rivals. Winnipeg Jets forward Mark Scheifele scored the goal that started the comeback while Ryan O’Reilly scored the eventual game winner.

Scheifele’s goal was a nice little re-direct on the power play in front of the net. Considering how much trouble the Jets have had with the man advantage throughout the years, this might be a spot they want to try Scheifele in, especially if it allows them to load up on skill on the first unit.
Outside of winning the game and scoring again, Scheifele was also chosen as one of Canada’s top three players in the tournament alongside Mitch Marner and Ryan O’Reilly. Team Canada plays for gold tomorrow at 1:30 pm CST.
