The Winnipeg Jets acquire Eric Tangradi from the Pittsburgh Penguins

The Winnipeg Jets have added another big body, as 6’4″, 221 pounder Eric Tangradi will be joining the team here in the River City. Despite never living up to the hype that many had for him when he was taken 42nd overall by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff obviously holds out some hope that the 24-year-old still has some game in him. And for a 7th-round pick, maybe it’s a decent gamble.

Listed as a left-winger on the Penguins website, the left-hand shot likely won`t see much time in the top-6 anytime soon, and where his role on the Jets will be is still up in the air. Perhaps James Wright’s spot on the 4th-line?

It should be noted that Tangradi is not waiver eligible — as mentioned by our pals at Pensburgh meaning that Jets' management is likely confident in his abilities at the NHL level.

Tangradi only has one goal and five assists in 45 career NHL games, but with sheltered minutes with the Penguins this year he managed to pick up a CorsiOn rating of 12.74 against a CorsiQoC of -0.324. Decent possession numbers.

As for the last word, I'll let Corey Pronman tell you all about him with the following link:
