NEWARK, NJ - APRIL 24: The New Jersey Devils surround Travis Zajac #19 in the corner as they celebrate Zajac scoring the game-winning goal in overtime to give them a 3-2 win against the Florida Panthers in Game Six of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals during the 2012 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at Prudential Center on April 24, 2012 in Newark, New Jersey. Hey all! Here is our feature running Monday through Friday that will bring you up to date on what's going on in the media pertaining to the Winnipeg Jets and elsewhere in the NHL.

Here is what's in the news for Wednesday, April 25, 2012:

According to Gary Lawless, signing Ondrej Pavelec should be priority number one this summer. Still beefing with Kane Lawless? In any event, I found this paragraph mildly interesting, despite its lack of corroboration: "One tidbit that came our way is the possibility of Pavelec being wooed by a KHL team expected to relocate to Prague in his native Czech Republic for the 2012-13 season. A team in Poprad, Slovakia is allegedly relocating to Prague and there is also talk of a club in Karlovy Vary joining the league." [WFP]

St. John's IceCaps head coach Keith McCambridge on the possible insertion of Mark Scheifele to his line-up: ""Ever since we learned he was coming here, I’ve had some scenarios in my head." So........ you're saying there's a chance? [The Telegram]

According to Brendan McCarthy of The Telegram, Schefiele will dress. Ed. Note: Confirmed this morning by McCambridge on TSN 1290AM.

Jeff Brewer's notion on what St. John's line combos might be tonight:

The Do's and Dont's of Winnipeg's offseason. Seriously, no love for Evander Kane!? [The Hockey Writers]

More Kane: He did not qualify for the Sweet 16 of the NHL 13 cover vote. Voting is still ongoing, so please take a few minutes out of your day to ensure that Evgeni Malkin, Steven Stamkos or Pavel Datsyuk appear on the cover. [EA Sports]

The New Jersey Devils staved off elimination last night against the Florida Panthers thanks largely to the heroics of Winnipegger Travis Zajac. [In Lou We Trust, Litter Box Cats]

The fact that Sidney Crosby even has to defend his decision to forgo this years' World Championships is ludicrous, he's coming off a major concussion, people. Self-preservation trumps patriotism. This isn't 1914. [CBC]
