Altitude Check: Friday, April 6, 2012 Winnipeg Jets News Headlines

Hey all! Here is our feature running Monday through Friday that will bring you up to date on what’s going on in the media pertaining to the Winnipeg Jets and elsewhere in the NHL.

Here is what's in the news for Friday, April 6, 2012:

Claude Noel recaps last night’s loss to the New York Islanders: “It’s very disrespectful the way we start games, the way we started again tonight. The way we get down in games is disrespectful to each other in what we want to accomplish in the game. The game’s 60 minutes. You may look at it as coming back. I think it’s poor.” [Winnipeg Sun]

Our SB Nation pals at Lighthouse Hockey offer more from an Islanders perspective: “The scariest moment of a roller-coaster 5-4 New York Islanders win was P.A. Parenteau suffering an ugly but apparently not-worst-case injury in the second period. Thankfully for the pending unrestricted free agent, the first report from the team is an ankle sprain rather than a break or tear or demolition of his leg as it first appeared. The fun stuff: The Islanders grabbing leads all night, then giving them back. As you might gather from our photo illustration, Al Montoya wasn’t exactly a wall in that effort, but he made a fine tank.” [Lighthouse Hockey]

Speaking of the University of Minnesota, they were absolutely decimated by Boston College in yesterday's Frozen Four Semi-Final. Ferris State was able to upset Union in the other bracket. Puck Daddy's Ryan Lambert has more on both games and Saturday's final. [Puck Daddy]

The sixteen teams that will be vying for the 2012 Stanley Cup have, as of last night, all punched their tickets to the playoffs. The only intrigue remaining is who will meet in the first round. [SB Nation]

Finally, Paulina Gretzky, in lingerie. What more of an explanation do you need? [TMZ]
