Nik Antropov staying put, out two weeks with lower body injury

The Winnipeg Jets can scratch one name off of their list of potential trade bait, as it has been revealed that Nik Antropov has a lower body injury and will miss the next two weeks of the season.

The hulking forward left the ice with 14:42 remaining in the period. He has 5 goals and 11 assists in 38 games played this year, despite logging mostly third line minutes. The injury has to be seen as a blow to the Jets no matter how you slice it, as if he was going to be traded, it is highly unlikely that will occur with this injury. It also leaves a hole in the lineup at third line centre. However, this may be a blessing in disguise for Alexander Burmistrov, who through no real fault of his own has taken up a forced occupancy in Chateau Bow Wow, run by Claude Noel.
