Preview: Nashville Predators @ Winnipeg Jets

The Winnipeg Jets will officially kick off the second half of the regular season tonight when they host the Nashville Predators at the Canada Life Centre. The Jets will enter action with a 27-12-2 record (tied for 2nd in NHL) against the 13-20-7 Predators (30th in NHL), yet it is Nashville that comes in with a 2 game winning streak while Winnipeg is in the midst of a 3 game skid.

Based on the early skate for the Jets this morning, it appears that Colin Miller will miss at least some action after taking a puck in the throat so that means Dylan Coghlan will slip into the lineup to fill his spot. It also appears that Dylan Samberg is very close to a return as well, since he was seen wearing a normal contact jersey at practice, but unfortunately it won’t be in time for tonight’s clash.

The Preds also are dealing with some injuries as well, with forward Cole Smith and defenseman Jeremy Lauzon on the shelf with various ailments.
