Hellebuyck Has Hart!!

The National Hockey League had some of its thunder stolen on Saturday when it was leaked that Winnipeg Jets’ goaltender Connor Hellebuyck was presented with the Hart & Vezina Trophies for the 2024-25 campaign. The leak was in the form of a photo of Bucky kneeling down in front of a lake to inspect the pair of trophies, seemingly surprised at his lake front house. And since the league has already pulled that kind of thing with some of the earlier trophy winners, I am thinking that it is a done deal.

The article linked below goes into detail to try and prove that the picture isn’t an artificial intelligence creation, so it appears that the Jets’ goalie has now become the 8th in the entire history of NHL to be awarded the Hart Trophy (Roy Worters, Chuck Rayner, Al Rollins, Jacques Plante, Dominik Hasek, Jose Theodore, & Carey Price). Hellebuyck also picked up his 3rd Vezina Trophy win of his career, the first tender to pick up the trophy in back-to-back seasons since Martin Brodeur (2006-07/2007-08).

With a league leading 47 wins, 8 shutouts, a 2.00 Goals Against Average, 0.925 Save Percentage, & +39.6 Goals Saved Above Expected rating, I would have to say that the regular season awards were well deserved (when the NHL finally gets around to making it official).
