The Winnipeg Jets (5-1-0) will put their 5 game winning streak on the line tonight when the Seattle Kraken (3-2-2) visit the Canada Life Centre. If the hometown club can manage to pick up another victory, then they will match the New Jersey Devils’ league leading hot streak. The visitors will be entering action on a 2 game skid, after being blown out by the Philadelphia Flyers (5-2) & the Washington Capitals (4-1).
The True Northers got a bit of a scare when 4th line center Morgan Barron missed practice yesterday, but from today’s pre-game skate it appears that Bear is ready to go tonight. The big guy has started off the year hot, with 5 points in 6 contests, including 3 very timely goals.
Both franchises are dealing with injuries though, as Winnipeg continues to be without Adam Lowry, Cole Perfetti, & Dylan Samberg while Seattle could be missing Jared McCann, Mason Marchment, Brandon Montour, Kaapo Kakko, & Frederick Gaudreau.

Well, it seems like playing only one period with intensity (outshot Kraken 13-8 in 3rd) isn’t always enough to walk away with 2 points in the NHL. The Winnipeg Jets did create enough scoring opportunities to win this one, but their finishing abilities weren’t up to snuff and they couldn’t find a way to beat Seattle’s Joey Daccord.
We’ll have to see how the True Northers’ respond tonight as they are right back at it with a match against the Calgary Flames.
