The Winnipeg Jets have dropped 2 of their last 3 contests and will be looking to right the ship tonight when they visit the Minnesota Wild at the Grand Casino Arena in Saint Paul. The Jets will be entering the action (7 pm Central puck drop) with a 6-3-0 record, while the Wild have lost 4 of 5 to come in with a 3-5-2 record.
The True Northers’ head coach Scott Arniel continues to shuffle 3 of his forward lines each game and for Tuesday’s game that also involves Nikita Chibrikov heading to the press box while Parker Ford will get the opportunity to get on the ice. The coaching staff has opted to bump Morgan Barron up to 3rd line center and that will move Vladislav Namestnikov up to the wing on Jonathan Toews’ unit.
Time to check out how ESPN displays the stats for the two clubs and then glance at PuckPedia’s likely incorrect line ups….
MATCH UP STATS

*****
The Team Stats above show that the Jets have had almost double the amount of penalty minutes….which could be a problem as Minnesota have scored 13 PPGs (32.5%). The Wild also get plenty of shots on net per game, but also have allowed a similar amount against…so hopefully Winnipeg can create enough scoring chances to pick up a couple points south of the border. Our goalies have also been performing a lot better, so that should also provide some help if it continues.

MINNESOTA WILD LINE UP

*****
A battle of Central Division clubs tonight, which is beginning to look like one of the NHL’s toughest divisions to secure a playoff spot. Therefore, whenever the Jets can pick up points in a head-to-head match up, it is very important. Here is how ESPN has the standings coming into action today:
