AIH 20416 Podcast Episode 6: Connor McDavid vs. the World

Hello everyone! Recorded on October 25th in the aftermath of Winnipeg's 5-4 win over the Minnesota Wild, we couldn't help but start Episode 6 with the most impassioned Minnesota Wild call ever. We missed the first two goals of the game thanks to alternating ridiculousness, before discussing Alan's hatred of children and Scotiabank's The 5th Season™.

After touching upon Dustin Byfuglien's nasty hit on Jason Pominville, struggling Jets players and Connor McDavid fatigue, it was time to talk Edmonton Oilers with Ryan Batty, Managing Editor of SB Nation's The Copper & Blue. Old one-sided rivalries, the McDavid effect on Nail Yakupov, shared dislike of Ondrej Pavelec, drafting according to positional need vs. best player available and the coming captaincy of Taylor Hall all made their way into the minutes.

We discovered that parts of the Oilers fanbase are weird and have pinned responsibility for the team's losing on Taylor Hall, while our guest shared the hope he once held for Craig MacTavish and Dallas Eakins. Whether it was being saved by the lockout and hurt by the salary cap, the glories of Luke Gazdic and Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, the power of playoff catharsis or postseason tickets costing an arm and a leg, we endeavoured to leave no stone unturned!

And when everything was said and done, Alan ended up being a ray of sunshine to my cloud of darkness, which is something you most certainly won't want to miss!
