Preview and GDT: Winnipeg Jets vs. Ottawa Senators

First of all, house keeping: the Winnipeg Jets and the Ottawa Senators are playing tonight in Ottawa as part of Hockey Day in Canada. Dylan Samberg and Karson Kuhlman will draw in for Ville Heinola and Sam Gagner. Connor Hellebuyck will be starting for the Jets.

Now for what I actually wanted to say: yesterday Vox (our parent company) at SBNation announced they were ending all but six NHL blogs and I believe all the MLS blogs along with layoffs. This was a cost cutting measure due to a lack of advertising revenue. Because this has affected basically the entire NHL SBN blog community we are working at figuring out something together or at least as a Canadian group (it was always weird doing things under an American site to be honest). We are still here until February 28 and we will be providing close to our normal coverage until that date. I am warning you, while we will keep it PG, we might get a little weird because hey, Vox doesn’t want us anymore.

I cannot say that we are not going anywhere because in fact we will be somewhere that is not this exact blog and we might have a new name. But we will still be somewhere, hopefully with most if not all of you. We are in the process of trying to plan something (all of this came out yesterday), so there are no answers yet. When we have a place (and possibly a new name), but same people and hopefully more of them.
